Spring Session
Water Focus
Our 13-week session begins April 2nd and ends on June 20 .
The class is from 2:45-5pm. Pickup no later than 5:30pm.
No class during Spring Break, Eid-al-Fitr, Memorial Day, Eid-al-Adha and Juneteenth.
Half Days offered include April 12 and May 17.
This session we will return outside.
Each month has a craft list of possible projects related to the curriculum below.
April - Clouds
Week One: 4/2-4/3, Introduce water session and cloud focus, Different types of clouds--start Focus: stratus,
Week Two: 4/8-4/9, Focus on cirrus Cloud animals, cloud stories in the sky, Begin adjust seedlings to cold weather. Continue planting outside.
Week Three: 4/15-4/17, Focus on cumulus clouds, paint bottle caps
Week Four: 4/29-5/1, Focus on nimbus clouds, paint bottle caps
Crafts: Cloud pictures, cloud wheels, wet on wet watercolors, rainy day mobile, thundercloud in a cup.
May - Plants
Week Five: 5/6-5/8, Introduce plants, plant anatomy. Continue transplanting and adjust to cold, and sowing directly.
Week Six: 5/13-5/15, Work on flower arrangements for teacher appreciation and mother's day
Week Seven: 5/20-5/22, Carnivorous plants, purchase one and observe. Finish outdoor sowing
Week Eight: 5/28-5/29, Make and sell herb garden window boxes from seedlings
Crafts: beanbags, compost tea, popcorn grass garden, bee oasis, finish collecting plants for herbarium.

June - Water
Week Nine: 6/3-6/5, Introduce water, do lots of watering in the garden. Finish transplanting.
Week Ten: 6/10-6/12, Water cycle, freezing water
Week Eleven: 6/18-6/20, Water samples. Clean water v. dirty water. Water safe to drink.
Week Twelve: 6/24-6/25, Where does our water come from? Oceans, rivers, we are all connected.
Crafts: water cycle in a jar, freezing edible flowers in ice cubes, finish recycled bottle caps installation, felt playmat, wet on wet watercolors, walnut boats, rubber band-powered wooden boats.
